Mujahid "Rashon" Dejesus July 12, 1985 - Febuary 20, 2005 |
"Rashon" To my angle that I know watches over me and our family now. You are gone, and that is so hard to believe, but you will never, ever be forgotten. For ever in my heart is where you will stay. Only a memory of someone so sweet and kind to all he met. On one Saturday night someone took you away from us; with the hate of one man everything we shared was taken away in one brief moment. It now takes everything I have just to get up and live yet another day without you. Tell me; how do I move on? Knowing that the man with the gun and all that hate couldn't have cared less about the next breath you would take. Don't worry little brother, for I won't rest or let them forget I am here today, and with God's will I will stay until someone pays for what they have not yet regreted. PS. Could you tell the rest of our loved ones over there on the other side, that I said hello and that I miss you all so very much.

Mujahid "Rashon" Dejesus Mujahid Dejesus better known as "Rashon," was born in Philadelphia PA. on July 12, 1985 to Awilda Dejesus and Calvin Dixson. Rashon was a very handsome young man at 5'1, brown eyes, and weighed 150 pounds. He loved hanging out with his friends and family. He also loved rapping in his spare time. Rashon had just started working at Ridge Crest Nursing Home, leaving behind all that the streets of North Philly had to offer. On Febuary 20, 2005 at 1:08 AM. Rashon was shot by another person in front of Tony's Place, a local bar, on 801 W. Lehigh Avenue, Philadelphia PA. He was responding to a phone call he had received from his sister. Rashon was accompanied by three other friends who all have stated they did not see who took my brother's life. When Rashon and friends arrived, they were met by a girl, and from what we were told the two got into an argument over a fight that she and my sister had, earlier, inside the bar. Then from across a well lit, wide open street someone dressed in black or blue jeans, and a black hoodie pulled over his head walked up to Rashon and shot him multiple times. Rashon later died at Temple University Hospital at 1:34 AM. of multiple gun shot wounds. He was only 19 years old. That made him the 27th murder victim in Philadelphia that year. The year that people actually started to realize that gun violence was taking over our city. His funeral was held at Wescott Funeral Home 1701-03 W. Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. Rashon's final resting place is Mt.Moriah Cemetery. His murder has not been solved yet. |
CrimeShots'© Mission Statement Visit forums to discuss this case CrimeShots © is a digest compiled from a broad spectrum of opinion, news, and media resources. CrimeShots © cares about victims. Oftentimes, after a murder is committed, the killer is arrested and all the attention suddenly focuses solely on him/her. The victim is soon forgotten. Most of us know the names of many notorious killers, however, it is quite likely that we could name only a very few of their victims. To forget them is heartbreaking, especially for their families. --May We ALL Remember The Victims ALWAYS-- and --May They All Rest In Peace, FOREVER- It's the action, not the fruit of the action,
