WARNING!!! EXTREMELY GRAPHIC PHOTOS SHOWN BELOW DEPICT THE HORROR AND THE CARNAGE THAT CHARLES MANSON AND HIS "FAMILY" MEMBERS INFLICTED UPON THESE INNOCENT VICTIMS ALMOST THIRTY-FIVE YEARS AGO, AND ARE GHASTLY EVEN BY TODAY'S STANDARDS!!!

***To view only the photos of the victims (no crime scene shots) in honor of their memory, please visit our memorial page Remembering The Victims Of 1969 and Sharon Tate's sister, Debra Tate's web site honoring her sister:

The photos on this page are gruesome and shocking, and are posted here as reference to be used for forum discussion purposes only. Hopefully, they will also serve as public reminders to the appeals board to continue to deny parole to those unbelievably heartless members of the"Manson Family," making certain that they NEVER re-enter society again.

There have been numerous parole hearings in the past, and Doris Tate (Sharon's mother) faithfully attended each one of them until her death on July 10, 1992, the result of a brain tumor. Patti Tate, (Sharon's youngest sister) carried on the family fight by attending the parole hearings of Sharon's murderers, from 1993 until 1997. Patti passed away, June 3, 2000, at age 42, after succumbing to breast cancer. Sharon's middle sister, Debra Tate has now assumed the role of spokesperson for the hearings.

At Susan Atkins' last parole hearing, Debra Tate, sister of Sharon Tate, wiped away tears as she read a letter from her father, Paul Tate, who spoke of the anguish his family has endured and pleaded for Atkins' continued incarceration.

Mr. Tate's letter said in part:

"Thirty one years ago I sat in a courtroom with a jury and watched with others. I saw a young woman who giggled, snickered and shouted out insults," Tate's father wrote. "Even while testifying about my daughter's last breath, she laughed."

I don't believe there is anyone at the hearing who saw Sharon's house, the crime scene, as I did the way Miss Atkins left it. I saw everything that has been described today and personally what she did to my child. "My family was ripped apart," the letter said. "If Susan Atkins is released to be rejoined with her family where will our justice be?

Meanwhile, the "Family" members are slowly growing older as they bide their time and file appeals, many years after their slaughtered victims were sadly laid to rest...

This Door Was Discovered At The Spahn Ranch

On August 8, 1969, Manson sent Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Linda Kasabian to 10050 Cielo Drive to "do the Devil's business." What ensued was a blood bath of apocalyptic proportions. Armed with knives and a gun, the Family members butchered Steve Parent, Abigail Folger, Voytec Frykowski, Jay Sebring and a very pregnant Sharon Tate. After the killing Tex ordered Susan to return inside and, "write something that will shock the world." Using a towel soaked in Tate's blood she wrote "PIG" on the door.

Blood Map Depicting Where Each Victim's Blood Was Discovered

This blood trail supports a confession that the "family" returned to the scene a couple of hours after the murders, and at that time Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring's bodies were moved to the porch and then back inside... Their intention had been to 'hang two of the bodies on the front porch but it was beginning to turn daylight so they decided to split.'

"Cielo" translates into "Heaven", and for Sharon Tate, it was that and much more. The house, located at the end of a cul-de-sac, was more comfortable than the typical ostentatious mansions of Beverly Hills. Built to resemble a barn, it had redwood-stained board and batten siding, cream colored trim and a cedar shake roof that was pierced by two large dormers that flooded the living room and loft with sunlight. After the murders, it became a curiosity, which despite a below market price, has never sold solely due to the horriffic murders that occured there on August 9, 1969.

CrimeShots © cares about victims. Oftentimes, after a murder is committed, the killer is arrested and all the attention suddenly focuses solely on him/her. The victim is soon forgotten. Most of us know the names of many notorious killers, however, it is quite likely that we could name only a very few of their victims. To forget them is heartbreaking, especially for their families.
